Hope the day after she came to us – scared and unsure

Hope the day after she came to us – emaciated and sick

Hope four weeks after she came to us
(Happy and fun loving, gaining weight and healthy)

As you can tell, we truly love dogs, and Bullmastiffs and French Bulldogs hold a special place in our hearts. So, we decided to start helping out in the American Bullmastiff Association's Rescue Service and the French Bulldog Rescue Network's rescue programs by fostering locally relinquished Bullmastiffs and French Bulldogs. Please note that we support all breed rescues and donate to other breed rescues whenever possible. We donate hundreds of dollars worth of products and funds annually.
Annie, our first foster
|
We were so fortunate to have four-year old Annie as our first Bullmastiff foster. She is sweet, loving and so happy to be with her people. She was relinquished at the local shelter because cruciate ligament repair surgery on her rear leg did not heal properly. The shelter was going to euthanize her because they considered her unadoptable because of her leg. When we pulled her from the shelter, she limped and was about 30 pounds overweight. We put her on a diet and had her checked by our veterinarian. Other than her weight and rear leg, she is in perfect health. We are hoping that with diet and exercise, she will gain more and more movement in that rear leg. We are happy to report that after about one and one-half months with us, Annie was adopted into her loving forever home that includes a young Bullmastiff male companion. In October 2005, we were again fortunate to have Hope, a female Bullmastiff, come into our lives as a foster dog. She was found as a stray in Los Angeles , and was severly emaciated with health problems. In just four weeks, she gained weight, conquered pneumonia and was well on the way to healing her skin infection. She emerged from her shell and became a happy girl with a constantly wagging tail, craving human and canine attention. She got along with all of our dogs and is a special, special girl. In December 2005, just before the holidays, Hope found her forever home with a wonderful family, which now includes a sister Pug. It was obvious that even though Hope endured such a hard road, she was willing to leave those memories forgotten for unconditional love.
In May 2006, Shayla came to stay with us as an owner surrender. Her tail never stopped wagging the short month she was here with us. She was our most well adjusted, healthy and easiest foster so far. A happy, goofy, submissive girl, she was destined to find her forever home quickly. And that she did. In June 2006, she went to live with a wonderful family and their sweet Bullmastiff female.
